I bet it had to do with the 1000 shofars/ 257 zivug packages/ the 5 leading causes of not getting married are ayin hora and not giving money to an Abuchatzeira/ advertisements that were in the papers last week. Straw that broke the camel's back.
I've long wondered how the Jewish weeklies have the gall to publish these advertisements. We all owe a big thank you to these Rabbanim. Anyone who sees them should commend them.
I echo the disapointment of one mega-J-Blogger in that so few Rabbonim were signatories to this and for the equivocation: "We urge you to consult your Rov before responding to these ads."
What's to consult??? These Segulah-de-jour slingers are frauds and con-artists. Why not come right out and say so? No shailos involved.
Why are we so terrified of normal lay-person Jews, who are , after all, blessed with Yidisher Kep actually using their own brains to make what is really a no-brainer decision even AFTER being given hadrocha by Gedolei Yisroel????
There's a newish secular daily paper in israel called Yisrael HaYom. It also had this glossy insert in it on sunday. The pics were of people without kippot or with kippot serugot. No black ones.
What took so long? And why these 3 rabbonim?
